HAWAIIAN BONE WASHING – September 13th

DESCRIPTION

Hawaiian Bone Washing is an ancient form of therapeutic massage used to aid the process of clearing “cherished” wounds.

This treatment involves working, with a light touch, into the periosteum (the sheath or fascia surrounding the bones) to release memories that may be causing pain (physically, mentally or emotionally) or preventing one from moving on in life.

The touch for Hawaiian bone washing is quite light, so definitely not as extreme as it sounds! However, the quality of the pressure or depth depends entirely on the needs of the client.

The treatment is received fully clothed with the intention of focusing and releasing and can be described as a blend of bodywork and energy work.. By moving the fingers between the muscles around the bones, it directs energy to clear out the energy of the remembered wounds. The pressure is light, be deeply relaxing and can assist in emotional healing.

Therapist: Aileen Durkan

I developed an interest in holistic therapies forms a very young age. Growing up in the countryside I always had an interest in nature and natural healing. I have always held a belief that true healing is the healing of the person as a whole, not just the body but the mind, the emotions and the soul also.

I studied holistic therapies for two years and spent a further year studying spa therapies. I continue to add skills and knowledge constantly through various courses. I now hold qualifications in anatomy and physiology, Body massage, Indian head massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Sports massage, Tui Na, Lomi Lomi massage, Lomi Lomi pregnancy massage, Hawaiian Spirituality, Functional osteopathic technique, Thai yoga massage, Hot stone massage, diet and nutrition and stress management.

I have worked in a 4-star spa for two years and now work in Dublin’s largest holistic centre, where I have been working now for almost five years.

Prior to the treatment, I discuss with my clients what they would like to achieve from the treatment and I see if they have any particular problems or concerns. With this information, I can customize the treatment specifically to suit the client. This makes each treatment a unique experience.

If you are unsure as to what treatment to choose you can come in for a free consultation and we can find a treatment to suit you best.
